Storyteller Tier
Storyteller is Trepic's default, free, open-to-all creator tier. Every Trepic creator begins here with a free profile, the ability to publish dispatches, and booking-attribution from their first trip — no follower minimums, no application, no gate. It is the foundation tier on Trepic's four-tier ladder, designed for everyday travelers starting to share real experiences.
Storyteller is the door. Anyone with a real trip and something honest to say can walk through it. The tier is free to join, free to use, and exists so that the act of writing about a place — and earning a small share when someone books because of that writing — is not gated by audience size.
At this tier, creators get a profile, the publishing tools to compose long-form dispatches, and the booking-attribution system that links any reservation made from their story back to them. Commission sits at the lower end of Trepic's published 3–20% band, scaling up as creators advance to Pro Storyteller and beyond.
The tier is intentionally low-friction. Trepic's view is that the best travel writing is rarely produced by the loudest accounts — it's produced by the people who linger. Storyteller exists so those people can begin without performing a follower count first.
Practically, this is the tier most working writers should join first. A travel newsletter at 1,200 subscribers can earn meaningful commission inside Storyteller — the gating factor is reader engagement, not follower count. We unpack the economics across all eight income streams in How to Monetize Travel Content in 2026, and benchmark Trepic's Storyteller-tier rate against Booking.com TAAP, Fora, and other affiliate networks in the 2026 commission rate comparison.
What "advancement" looks like: Storyteller is the launchpad, not the ceiling. Creators move into Pro Storyteller when their dispatches consistently drive bookings and meet editorial standards — and into Founding Creator by direct invite from the founding team. There is no gamified click-bait ladder; advancement tracks real, paying readership.
